Dr Gupta is the Founder & CEO of Tembo Health, a national dementia care company helping patients and caregivers navigate one of healthcare’s most complex and underserved journeys.
At Tembo, we deliver a virtual wraparound dementia care model that combines specialist telemedicine, care navigation, 24/7 urgent care, remote monitoring, and in-home services to support older adults remain healthy, happy, and at home.
We partner with health plans, health systems, provider groups, and senior care organizations to improve outcomes for patients living with dementia while advancing value-based care performance. Under the CMS GUIDE Model, Tembo has achieved:
• 98% patient engagement
• Net Promoter Score >95
• 75% reductions in ER and hospital utilization
• 36% reduction in total cost of care
Tembo currently serves patients across all 50 states through Medicare-covered dementia care services.
I’m a practicing emergency physician and board certified in emergency medicine, clinical informatics, and addiction medicine. Prior to founding Tembo, I worked across healthcare delivery, strategy, AI, and digital health innovation.
My background includes:
• Boston Consulting Group (healthcare strategy and transformation)
• Northwell Health (health system innovation and operational transformation)
• Brigham and Women’s Hospital (clinical informatics and NIH-funded research)
• Imagen Technologies (AI-enabled diagnostics and clinical operations leadership)
I earned my MD and MBA from the University of Michigan and, after training in emergency medicine at Mount Sinai Beth Israel in NYC, completed a postdoctoral NIH/NLM research fellowship at Harvard Medical School in Boston.
I’m passionate about building scalable healthcare models that improve patient outcomes, reduce caregiver burden, and redesign how complex chronic disease care is delivered in the home.
