Ms. Johnson, who teaches Mathematics, Social Studies, and Economics at Bellingham High School in Bellingham, Wash., beat out a field of impressive candidates from across the United States for the award. In addition to her teaching duties, Ms. Johnson also has presented and spoken at several education conferences as well as Junior Achievement of Washington events. She serves as a DECA advisor and co-coordinator of the Math Olympiad at Bellingham, is a board member of the Washington State Center for Economic Education, and a member of the National Council for Teachers of Mathematics.
