I'm a first generation Cuban American who's worked hard to create opportunity and empower others in everything I do. I believe home buying is the great American gift because with a home, we can create freedom and empowerment for every single person. My father was on the Cuban national baseball team and landed in Miami in 1964 after spending 3 days at sea, rowing to from Cuba to freedom. He was homeless the first week in this country. With some kindness from the community and an entrepreneurial mindset, my father bootstrapped and created his own construction business. I was able to see firsthand what freedom of mind, spirit, and career can do in someone's life. I almost became a baseball player until I got hurt, so I started studying accounting in college before switching to finance. Accounting may be the language of business, but finance is the strategy of business. I got into finance and did stocks first but after the dot-com crash somebody said I should try mortgages, which interested me because my father was a contractor. So I became a loan officer at Mortgage Now and then mortgage broker with Global Mortgage where I operated the top producing office and closed over 3K loans. But I saw there was a bigger opportunity and co-founded Equity Prime Mortgage (EPM) as a brokerage in 2008. Our mission is to empower people more and create an even playing field across in the home buying experience. Who we are: 🟢 EPM is a licensed mortgage lender with operations extending across the United States and over 500 employees. We provide a variety of mortgage products, have Certified Underwriters on staff and focus on the first time home buyer. 🟢 Our management team has over 50 years of experience in the mortgage industry. Unlike many lenders, EPM is not limited to working with only one type of borrower which means that people of all financial and credit profiles receive the same impressive cost-saving benefits. As CEO, it’s my chance to live my virtues and show my employees that I really do live by our mission to make other people successful.
