UNIX / Linux Infrastructure Engineer at AbbVie
United States
I engineer and secure Linux infrastructure for the financial services industry — the environments where downtime and vulnerabilities have seven-figure consequences.
Over 20 years I've built, hardened, and scaled Red Hat Enterprise Linux environments across some of the most demanding infrastructures in finance: Bloomberg LP (6,500+ Linux servers; 80B+ market data events per day), Merrill Lynch HFT (600+ RHEL servers, sub-millisecond latency), and currently MUFG Securities Americas, where I lead enterprise Linux security operations and infrastructure engineering for mission-critical trading systems.
My core focus at MUFG centers on Threat & Vulnerability Management (TVM) — automating security remediation at scale using Ansible, OpenSCAP, and Red Hat Satellite aligned to CIS benchmarks and NIST frameworks. I recently architected and led the enterprise migration of Red Hat Satellite from 6.10 to 6.16 across a RHEL 7/8/9 hybrid environment spanning VMware vSphere and Nutanix Prism.
Beyond Linux, I architect F5 BIG-IP LTM/GTM load-balancing solutions, administer enterprise DNS and email security platforms (Infoblox, Proofpoint), and manage Dell enterprise hardware in hybrid physical/virtual estates.
What I bring to a team:
→ Deep RHEL expertise: RHEL 5 through 9, Red Hat Satellite, Ansible Automation Platform
→ Security at scale: CIS hardening, CVSS-based vulnerability prioritization, NIST compliance automation
→ Low-latency infrastructure: HFT systems, ticker plant engineering, sub-millisecond performance tuning
→ Financial services vertical: banking, capital markets, asset management, fintech — regulations, risk, and uptime standards included
Open to discussing remote/hybrid senior Linux infrastructure, Linux security engineering, or principal/staff-level infrastructure roles in financial services and beyond.
