I am a digital strategist that uniquely understands how strategy, design, content, technology and marketing come together to create engaging interactive experiences. At heart, I am an entrepreneur always looking for exciting new opportunities and growth. After years in the web agency business, I started Interactive Strategies in September 2001 because I was frustrated with business as usual. At the time, some agencies were creating beautiful design. Others were coding inventive technology. Just a handful were thinking about how to attract and keep site visitors. It was all just a bunch of parts and no glue. Bringing It Together My idea was simple. Let's pick up the pieces and start putting them together. Let's take some time up front to intimately understand our clients' objectives and craft comprehensive long-term strategies. Let's think about how design and content can play together to create better user experiences. Let's not develop technology just for the sake of it, but give it a purpose and make it seamless. Let's build direct relationships with site visitors through email and social media. And let's drive awareness traffic through search and other media. Building Our Team Slowly and deliberately, I set out to recruit experts in strategy, design, content, technology and marketing. They answered the call from all over – Chicago, Denver, Boston and, of course, Washington DC. Each arrived with a unique passion for the web and deep experience from a diverse set of clients – FirstUSA, Accenture, Avis, Ford, AOL, and USAA. But they were also opera singers, bicyclists, and band leaders. Looking Back After ten years, I look back with the sense that we have actually delivered on our promise. We could have grown faster. We could have merged five times over. But what would have been the point? Instead, our focus remains only on creating quality work, delivering measurable results, and providing our clients and our employees a great experience along the way.
