    In 2015, my Title company was ripped off for $180,000 which led to a two-year recovery effort in which I had to testify for the U.S. Department of Justice against a global cyberfraud syndicate originating out of Western Africa. This syndicate was responsible for over $3B in wire fraud scam attempts over a five-year period. To say this was a unique, intense experience would be an understatement. What came out of that was a unique understanding of how sophisticated, timely, and indefensible the threat of wire fraud was to the real estate industry – and that a solution would be desperately needed.     It began when I visited a residential title company that was doing a commercial closing. While being jammed into a small closing room, which was a common and frustrating practice, I realized how ready the title industry was for “disruptive change” – so I started Sun Title along with my business partner, Lawrence Duthler, and never looked back. It wasn’t always easy and I’ve learned incredible lessons about people leadership through it all.
