The investment group purchased the Resort in 2006 for $228m, increased profits, over a 4 year period, from $6m to $14m and obtained planning permission for 500 condominiums, working with the PGATOUR. The Resort entered a Chapter 11 restructuring in 2010 and was sold to Goldman Sachs in 2012.
