I got my degree in advertising - even though I knew it was an industry I didn't envision myself working in. What I took from an education in advertising was:
• How to tell a 2-second story that captures someone's attention.
• Why stories (and strategies) grounded in data and insights about your audience are what get people to take action.
• What happens next: the true works lies not in awareness or action, but the long game of loyalty, trust, and advocacy.
Those concepts have been foundational in my career as a Go-To-Market and Enablement leader – especially in roles that straddle forward-looking strategy and day-to-day execution, from junior to executive-level stakeholders. Whether it's launching a new product or process, gearing up for a Sales Kick-Off, or simply talking through a challenging deal, I need to know:
• Why does it matter
• How can I make sure you're fully engaged
• What will we do to keep the momentum going
Most days you will find me obsessing over: simplicity and relatability, clear communication, ensuring actions are informed by stakeholders, keeping the end outcome and long-term impact top of mind, and asking questions that help me and the teams I support to connect all the small dots to the bigger picture.
A phrase I'm musing on recently: "What if you showed up every day thinking this could be the best day of your career (or your life)."
