I was the first employee in the company named "Most Outstanding Employee," although, to this day I'm largely convinced my name was picked out of a hat. The biggest perk of said award was getting to design the trophy for subsequent winners. I created a life-sized cardboard cutout of my colleague Huck, with the tagline "You Hucked it up!" I believe it is still passed from cubicle to cubicle, so it's nice to know I had a lasting impact in my 5 years there.

On the technical front, I spent time across the various engineering orgs writing (dubious) software, designing a few circuits and boards (and the accompanying firmware), doing analysis and simulation, and (the bulk of my time) doing mechanical design.

    I'm ridiculously

    Lecturer, Mechanical Engineering Department

Dreamed up, incubated, pitched, and taught a class in Stanford's engineering school with my close friend (and FAR more talented counterpart) Michael Flynn (not THAT Michael Flynn). We were among the youngest appointed lecturers in Stanford Engineering.

It was absolute chaos at first, but after lots of feedback and iteration, it took off. In my final time teaching, the class received a perfect 5/5 rating (as did I as a lecturer). The class is now in its 5th year (I stopped teaching during business school), and Michael, no longer burdened by his former co-lecturer, has taken it to amazing heights.

  • Stanford University Graduate School of Business
    Master of Business Administration (M.B.A
Stanford University Graduate School of Business
    Jan 2015 - Jan 2017 (2 years 1 month)
Gave up the noble pursuit of engineering to join the dark-side of business people. Spent my time taking as many entrepreneurship (and coding / ML) classes as possible, incubating Afresh, and generally trying to convince my parents to stop devoting the entirety of our holiday letter to my sister, her impressive career, and her adorable children.
  • Stanford University
Master of Science (MS, Mechanical Engineering
    Stanford University
    Jan 2008 - Jan 2010 (2 years 1 month)
Focused on mechatronics -- did a lot of embedded systems engineering, programming, electrical engineering, and mechanical design.
  • Stanford University
Bachelor of Science (BS, Mechanical Engineering
    Stanford University
    Jan 2004 - Jan 2008 (4 years 1 month)
I was a 9-time intramural champion: a fact to which my parents condescendingly refer when they need to point out their preference for my sister and her far more impressive path through college.

Built the fastest horse robot in ME 112 (but George Nelson deserves all the credit for that).

I was voted "Most likely to drive a teacher to the insane asylum." (on my father's advice, I turned down accepting this superlative).

On the self-aggrandizing front, I (with a few peers) was co-valedictorian, MVP of the men's tennis team, voted "Most likely to succeed," National Merit and Byrd scholar, National Army Reserve Scholar Athlete, and just generally peaked at a depressingly young age.
This is a community-created genome.
