Jan Goetz

I am the CEO and co-founder of IQM Quantum Computers, a company that builds world-leading quantum computers for the well-being of humankind, now and for the future. I am excited about leading and growing a team of talented quantum physicists, top engineers, and experienced business professionals. With IQM we are focusing on building critical infrastructure, and are delivering cutting-edge quantum hardware and software solutions to our clients and partners.I am passionate about advancing the quantum ecosystem in Europe and beyond, and contributing to the global challenges and opportunities that quantum computing can address. As a quantum technology expert and innovator, I hold a title of docent in quantum technology from Aalto University and a PhD in physics from Technische Universität München. I am a member of the governing board of the European Quantum Industry Consortium (QuIC) and a global innovator and digital leader at the World Economic Forum. In 2024, I was selected by WirtschaftsWoche as one of 30 who will shapre Germany until 2030. In 2023, I was selected as Founder of the Year by Handelsblatt. In 2020, Capital magazine selected me as one of 40 under 40 in Germany. In addition, I received an entrepreneurship award from the KAUTE Foundation. I have been serving in the Board of the European Innovation Council EIC and still support this important initiative to my role as EIC Scaling Club Counsil member. I love dogs and enjoy spending time with my family and friends.
