I've spent 20+ years leading engineering teams at companies from startup to Fortune 500 — DigitalOcean, Priceline, Trulia, Zillow, Wells Fargo — building consumer product, enterprise and mid-market SaaS, developer platforms, and the teams behind them. As VP of Engineering at Customer.io, I scaled engineering through $100M+ ARR at a bootstrapped, global company. My team aggressively adopted AI tooling and shipped industry-shaping agentic customer-facing features. We operate a high-volume data system at scale, and I've built a culture around metrics (developer experience, throughput, predictable delivery) with a focus on customer value, not hype. Before Customer.io, I led teams at Lob (YC S13) that scaled beyond $100M ARR, and in prior roles my teams built some early firsts — one of the first live auction platforms, early online marketplaces, and deal-search technology — and drove major technical migrations from monolithic architectures to modern cloud-based services. I've also consulted for brands like Chrome Industries, Keen, and Timbuk2, building customization engines and e-commerce platforms. I've taken low- and mid-performing organizations and turned them into high-velocity, highly engaged teams. Outside of work, I'm active in Tai Chi, maintain a Feldenkrais Method practice, and hold a third-degree black belt in Aikido.
