I oversaw the integration of the Newtrade development team in the Expedia software engineering group. I was responsible for developing the Expedia Direct Connect technology product strategy. I was also responsible for signing-up the major hotel chain partners for Direct Connect. In 2 years we connected over 10 000 hotels including major hotel chains (Marriot, Hilton, Hyatt, Carlson, Cendant, Choice Hotels, etc.) and independent hotels. When I left Expedia, Direct Connect technology was processing over 6 million rate & inventory updates and 125 000 reservations a week.

Newtrade Technologies Inc

Mar 1997 - Oct 2002 (5 years 8 months)

I was co-Founder of Newtrade Technologies Inc. in 1997. We raised 7M$ CAD of venture capital in two rounds from local venture capital firms, and built the company up to 70 employees. I led a team of 45 software engineers, testers, and system architects in building one of the world’s largest connectivity platforms for the hospitality market. In 2002 we reached profitability with major accounts that included Pegasus, Travel Web, Best Western and Hotels.com. In 2002 we sold Newtrade technologies to Expedia Inc, 21 months after first round of funding.
