Most AI engagements are designed so you never stop paying. We started Telios Technology Partners to do the opposite.
We build working AI inside owner-led, mid-market companies, and then we hand it over. The code, the AI engine, the prompts, the documentation, the environment, and the training your team needs to run it without us. The handover process is discussed the day we sign, not negotiated once you're dependent.
Before this, I spent 30+ years running operating companies — most recently as Global COO and President of the Americas at Calibre Scientific, overseeing roughly $400M in revenue, 900 people, 12 countries, and more than 30 acquisitions. I've sat on the buying side of enough software and consulting contracts to know what dependence actually costs, and how rarely anyone quotes that price up front.
That's the whole reason the firm is structured the way it is. We're self-funded, we take few clients, and we're vendor agnostic. Nothing in our cost base depends on a client being unable to leave.
I also speak to CEO and executive groups through Vistage, keynotes and working sessions on what AI changes in an operating company, and what it doesn't.
If you're being sold AI you'll never own, that's a conversation worth having.
