Graduated from Florida International University (FIU) with a Master of Social Work (MSW) and a Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry and Biology.
· Proficient on crisis interventions, individual and group counseling, especially for those who are suffering from an acute mental health disorder.
· Experienced in mental health psychoeducation, direct counseling, unconditional acceptance, active listening and identifying coping mechanisms using mindfulness and motivational interviewing skills.
· Efficient using crisis interventions strategies that allows the client to identify basic tools needed to overcome their crisis and begin their long-term healing process.
· Knowledge of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM-V) and community resources at the master’s level.
· Experienced on Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) and Unaccompanied Alien Children (UAC) policies and procedures set by the ORR in terms of initial intake procedures, reporting procedures and discharge procedures. I have a wide experience working in a fast-paced environment in child welfare with unaccompanied minor children (UAC) at the federal level providing case management, reunification and referral services. Also, I am experienced in the administrative field, dealing with complex confidential processes, PII and PHI documentation and verification.
