VP of Platform Engineering
Herndon, Virginia, United States
I architect mission-critical, high-scale platform ecosystems for federal defense—where “failure isn’t a SaaS plan.” At Agile Defense, I accelerated delivery velocity by 40%, stood up self‑service developer platforms reducing onboarding by 30%, and am mentoring over 2,000 engineers enterprise-wide.
Before that, I led modernization projects at IntelliBridge—securing $10M–$160M proposals and translating DevSecOps principles into tangible impact. At DHS, I scaled a 70+ node Hadoop ecosystem in GovCloud, ingesting and operationalizing critical DHS data streams (I-94, PNR, APIS, TSA, IDENT, SEVIS).
What lights me up? Building platforms that do data ops at scale—secure, compliant, and future-ready. If you're driving GenAI adoption, resilient observability, or Cloud-Native agency modernization—let’s talk.
- As a Technical Lead at DHS works with systems engineers and client Product Owners to create user stories for new features and required O&M work to recommend needed architectural enhancements to existing systems before recommending changes that may impact system health.
- Provides research and background to ensure delivery of high quality system artifacts by creating user stories based upon metrics such as performance, security, availability, scalability, reusability, maintainability, and configurability as system architectures are modified in an Agile fashion. Ensures that new features can scale as needed before changes are made and recommends appropriate architectural changes prior to approving features that may impact the health of the system.
- Extensive knowledge of DHS Systems Architecture and software development guidelines and best practices.
