Recruiter at American Cancer Society | Connecting Mission-Driven Talent with Meaningful Careers
Springfield, Illinois, United States
I am a mission-driven recruitment and talent operations leader with 15 years of experience building high-impact hiring strategies across nonprofit, mental health, workforce development, AmeriCorps, and national service organizations.
Today, I serve as a Recruiter with the American Cancer Society, where I partner with hiring leaders to attract exceptional talent, build strong candidate pipelines, and support teams advancing the organization's lifesaving mission. I am passionate about connecting people with meaningful work and creating hiring experiences that reflect an organization's values and culture.
Prior to joining ACS, I served as Member Recruitment Coordinator for the National Mental Health Corps, where I founded and scaled the organization's first recruitment department. I developed national recruitment strategies and led full-cycle hiring for Public Health AmeriCorps and AmeriCorps State & National programs, building recruitment infrastructure from the ground up. My work included designing outreach strategies, developing candidate engagement systems, managing recruitment operations, and leading teams that successfully filled positions nationwide.
My career sits at the intersection of people, systems, and purpose. I enjoy translating mission into action by creating scalable, human-centered recruitment processes and collaborating with stakeholders across organizations, universities, state commissions, and community partners to achieve shared goals.
I am known for my consultative approach, strong relationship-building skills, and ability to balance strategy with execution. I believe recruiting is about more than filling positions. It is about helping people find purpose, strengthening organizations, and creating lasting impact through meaningful connections.
Outside of work, you'll usually find me reading a good book, spending time with my family, working in my garden, or chasing after my Golden Retriever puppy.
