- UTranscranial Magnetic Stimulation (rTMS) for Treatment of Depression in Patient with Multiple Sclerosis and Patient withUS Psychiatric Mental Health CongressSep 2015Transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) is a non-invasive procedure that involves stimulation of frontal/prefrontal cortex for the treatment of depression. The treatment is induced by a treatment coil that is placed on the scalp while patient is awake and alert. Both patients underwent a full cycle of TMS treatment and were monitored throughout treatment with depression rating scales. There was a decrease in depressive symptoms for both patients. Patient 2 also experienced decrease in MS symptoms.
