Bachelor Thesis: "A review of SARS-CoV-2 B.1.1.7, B.1.351 and P.1 variants and their interactions with ACE2 and neutralising antibodies." The novel SARS-CoV-2 virus emerged in Wuhan, China, and has spread globally, giving rise to concerning variants like the UK (B.1.1.7), South African (B.1.351), and Brazilian (P.1). These variants have mutations in the spike protein receptor binding domain (RBD), leading to more robust binding to human ACE2 receptors and potential immune evasion. Among them, the B.1.351 variant is particularly worrisome due to a combination of mutations that enhance receptor binding and immune resistance. Show less
