Executive Director at Every Dog Behavior and Training
Austin, Texas, United States
I believe that all people deserve access to care for their pets: including behavior care.
I spent years working in animal shelters wearing many hats- starting as a volunteer and ending up as a shelter operations manager, doing everything from social media and comms to leadership and supervision to disaster response and behavior assessments. I saw first-hand that we needed community-centric resources to help people and pets out in our city- not just in our shelter.
During this time I also became a certified dog trainer, then certified behavior consultant, and earned my Master's Degree in Applied Animal Behavior and Welfare.
Now I'm the Executive Director for Every Dog Behavior and Training, where we're revolutionizing the world of Access to Care to include behavior and training as a central component, not an afterthought.
I am a dynamic leader with a passion for strategic thinking who loves looking at the big picture and making systems work better. I'm a strong advocate for diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging, and I'm fiercely dedicated to making dog training and behavior a more inclusive, accessible industry and one that's great to work in- for clients, pets, and professionals.
In addition to access to behavior care, my expertise also lies in behavioral euthanasia of companion animals (particularly dogs), and have published research on this topic.
