I'm super dyslexic, I fell in love with audiobooks and have listened to more than 1,500 of them. In college I built a Voice AI Assistant that could read out everything to me, today tens of millions of people use Speechify across work, learning, and entertainment. We've become the most used consumer Voice AI platform in the world helping our users read, write, research, and have fun. Our product ecosystem includes iOS/Android, web, Chrome, and desktop. Core features in our Voice AI Productivity platform: text to speech, voice typing, AI podcasts, and talk to Speechify, where Speechify has context on everything you've read. Speechify is your Voice AI-first alternative to ChatGPT & Google Gemini. Speechify has been the #1 app in its cate
  • Make School YC
    Computer Science Instructor
    Make School YC
    Jun 2016 - Jul 2016 (2 months)
    • While I was at Make School, my 14 student cluster published more apps than any other cluster in the history of the school. Three apps per student instead of the usual one. Of the top 6 apps built in the program, 4 were from my cluster. • I lead my students on runs with me in the morning before school, got them to start going to sleep on time, and got many of them to start listening to one audiobook every week. • Lectured on software engineering to 147 students. Co-lead instructor at Make School's HQ.

    FindMeScholarships
    Apr 2016 - Aug 2016 (5 months)
I had almost $80K worth of school loans but wanted to work for myself after graduation. So, I hired a team of 10 virtual assistants in the Philippines and coached them to find and apply to scholarships for me. I made a 3,540% return on my investment in 4 months and paid off most of my loans. As the final project for my Software Engineering class at Brown I worked with friends to build a suite of tools to automate much of this work for my team in the Philippines. Then, we wrote a system that would automatically hire new virtual assistants and assign them to clients who paid for the service (http://findmescholarships.com/). Sold out capacity in less than a week. The final project was worth 42% of our grade in the class. We got a 100% score

  • WeMap

    WeMap
    Jan 2015 - Apr 2015 (4 months)
I originally built WeMap as a valentines day present for my girlfriend. It allows couples to build an interactive scrapbook/map of their favorite past date locations and to find new date locations. Enough people asked "How can I make a present like this for my significant other?" That I made WeMap user facing and released it to the app store. I built WeMap in Swift using Parse for my database. 25+ five star reviews on the app store: https://appsto.re/us/2KDw5.i

  • BoardBrake
    CEO & Founder
    BoardBrake
    Sep 2012 - Apr 2015 (2 years 8 months)
I built BoardBrake after a friend fell and got injured on my longboard. I developed 42 design iterations for it and 12 prototypes using 3D printing and casting. I recruited & led 2 engineers and 3 industrial designers from Stanford, MIT, RISD, and Brown to help me do it, interviewed 131 potential customers in Lean Startup Methodology, and won 2nd place at Stanford's Startup competition and 1st place at MIT's Startup Competition. During this process I learned jus how unnecessarily complicated filing a provisional patent can be. I didn't want anyone else to have to go through the hassle I'd just gone through, so, I synthesized all I'd learned into an 8 minutes video that would allow someone to skip all the complication and do it in 20 minut
