I care a lot about how people experience work, especially in the moments that aren’t straightforward.
I’ve spent the last 9+ years working in People Ops and HR across distributed teams, supporting everything from hiring and performance to employee relations, investigations, and organizational change.
I’m comfortable building and running the full function, but the work I’m most often pulled into is the part that doesn’t fit neatly into a process - when something feels off, when the stakes are high, or when there isn’t a clear answer.
I’ve worked through high growth, ambiguity, restructuring, and complex employee situations where how you respond really matters. My role in those moments is usually to slow things down, make sense of what’s actually happening, and help leaders move forward in a way that’s clear, fair, and doesn’t create more problems.
Earlier in my career, I worked in social work with a focus on crisis and mental health support. That experience still shapes how I show up across all roles and support moments - calm, grounded, and able to navigate complexity without overreacting or avoiding it altogether. I also hold formal credentials in mental health, psychological safety, workplace investigations, and human rights, and I’m a registered social worker.
"Best Practice" is great in theory, but I don’t think “best practice” applies cleanly to most situations involving humans and the human condition. I care more about what works in context - for the business, the team, and the people involved.
Some of the work I spend the most time in:
• building and evolving performance and talent practices that actually hold up as companies grow
• navigating employee relations issues and investigations with credibility and care
• coaching leaders through difficult or high-stakes people decisions
• creating enough structure to support the business, without overcomplicating how people work
I’m known for being pragmatic, steady in high-stakes situations, and honest about tradeoffs.
Open to both full-time roles and advisory work where this kind of support is needed. DM me :)
