I was elected to sub-lead marketing for student-led writing festival, RIFT. The festival promotes new and original playwriting from postgraduate students in conjunction with Leeds Playhouse. The role was hands-on, with duties including helping to set-up and break-down areas, as well as managing comp lists for industry guests. My roles extended to dealing with customer deliveries and returns regarding online orders/ maintaining a laundry system that had been set up with a local service. My roles within this mainly involved general research and utilising social media to gain current insight into events and stories that the paper was following as well as drawing from office materials to assist with research. I had the opportunity to learn more about journalistic writing and have my own practice work analysed by the Deputy Editor. Additionally, I joined team meetings to discuss structure and content, with other responsibilities including administrative tasks.

I worked mainly transposing VHS tapes into a digital format in order to archive them for which purpose I learned archiving terminology. I was also given the opportunity to practice editing film material and visit the tape archives which I enjoyed immensely.
