Early Bitcoin Experiment
ZapChain
Jun 2014 - Mar 2016 (1 year 10 months)
I created ZapChain in 2013 as an experiment of combining an online community platform with microtransactions on the blockchain.
ZapChain originally was a community of bitcoin professionals, investors, and enthusiasts, and at one point was the highest quality place for the top people in the industry to have discussions. Notable members included Brian Armstrong (CEO of Coinbase), Roger Ver, Vitalik Buterin (Creator of Ethereum), Charlie Lee (Creator of Litecoin), and Brock Pierce.
ZapChain users could post questions, or content, and then tip bitcoin to quality responses the community responded with.
ZapChain later expanded to include communities for Virtual Reality, Drones, and Artificial Intelligence.
