Laurel Springer

I am a social development practitioner and programme development consultant committed to strengthening the systems that shape the lives of children, youth, families, and communities. I am the Principal Consultant of Springboard Consulting, a Barbados-based consultancy that partners with youth-serving institutions, workplaces, and community organizations to design and implement trauma-informed, psychologically healthy, and high-performing environments. Over the past decade, my work has spanned youth justice, education, government policy, and community systems across Canada and the Caribbean. Through this experience, I have led and contributed to initiatives focused on programme design, policy development, service delivery improvement, and organizational capacity strengthening. My work today focuses on helping organizations translate policy, research, and best practice into practical strategies that improve outcomes for the people they serve. Areas of focus include: • Youth development and youth justice • Mental health and psychosocial support • Trauma-informed organizational practice • Programme design, implementation, and evaluation • Professional training and workforce development I also serve as a part-time lecturer at the University of the West Indies, where I enjoy supporting the development of future social workers and practitioners.
