First engineer on a weather insurance startup that was sold for $930M in 2013. I built the product from scratch with the founders, helped hire out a team, and evolved the product. The company, born as a weather derivatives product called WeatherBill, initially helped businesses of all kinds hedge against the impact of unfavorable weather events (heat waves, unexpected frost, rain, snow). It ultimately found the most adoption within the agriculture sector where it rapidly grew until it was acquired in 2013.

As a member of the Professional Services division, I worked on cutting edge, high-visibility projects for strategic clients, often under stressful conditions and tight deadlines. Projects in which I participated include an evacuation tool for residents living in the areas affected by Hurricane Rita, an initiative for the Department of Justice that is sponsored by the White House, a forest fire prevention project sponsored by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), and work for relief organizations involved the tsunami in South-East Asia.
