    Aug 2016 - Dec 2018 (2 years 5 months)
My role at eBay is varied and exciting! I spent my first 7 months in Sydney, where I provided commercial and product counselling on a wide range of matters. Most notably, I assisted the consumer-to-consumer (C2C) team to set up a valet program, worked closely with the business on the introduction of eBay gift cards, and provided day-to-day support for the advertising business unit. For the majority of 2017, I then worked at HQ in San Jose, California. There, I advised on trust initiatives, drafted and negotiated large strategic partnership agreements, and advised on marketing activities. I also acted as the lead lawyer on a significant new C2C initiative, eBay Authenticate, which enables buyers to purchase high ASP items with confidence

    Sep 2014 - Dec 2015 (1 year 4 months)
In England and Wales, qualification occurs following a one-year Legal Practice Course and a two-year training contract with a law firm. Therefore, having completed a commercial secondment and double seat with the Commercial & IP team immediately prior to admission, I qualified into the team with a year's experience in commercial law. I subsequently completed a second secondment with the same food retailer (having been asked to return to assist with maternity cover), building up a strong relationship with the client and enabling me to develop excellent commercial understanding and business experience. As part of the DWF Commercial & IP team I undertook a variety of work in the areas of IP, competition, IT and technology and sports law. M
