When my mother, Hortensia Albertini started Global LT, (formerly Langua Tutor) in 1979, her passion was to help train executive teams to learn the language and culture of the destinations they were expatriating to. It is now my goal to continue to grow and built Global LT!In my years of business I always come across people who believe that culture is just 'who we are' and has no impact on what we do. That may be true, but to excel in business you must break down that mindset and engrain yourself in each cultures riches.Understanding different values, different beliefs, and different mindsets is what will make you and your company stand out among the rest. The way people do business is an external reflection of internal drivers, and if we don't understand these we're going to struggle to work with them and potentially set up a hostile environment of a 'them vs. 'us' attitude. In my position at Global LT as CEO, I see the importance of understanding the global marketplace. Business life is about accepting, adjusting and growing from that knowledge.
