Previously: Bend Health (healthcare), Twitter (trust & safety), Recurly (fintech), LogRhythm (security).
For over 15 years, I have led software engineering teams that deliver high-quality software in a predictable and accountable way. My experience includes both day-to-day and strategic software development operations across product, services, and consulting organizations (series A startups through public companies). I have managed managers and multiple full-stack software, product, and user experience (UX) teams in multiple locations (remote/offshore).
I have more than 20 years of experience in software engineering overall, and have been a passionate programmer in multiple languages including Java, JavaScript, Ruby on Rails, ColdFusion, and various flavors of SQL. While I continue to enjoy coding, I feel I am most effective in leadership roles.
I am results-driven and customer-focused. I don’t believe in walls or waiting. I do believe that honesty and communication can solve most problems, that mistakes are opportunities for growth, that diverse teams are more successful, and that building a culture of trust and feedback creates positive results. Ultimately, my job is to be a catalyst: get the right folks together, create a safe space for dialogue and innovation, drive consensus, create visibility, and deliver predictable, quality solutions.
I am seeking roles where I can make a customer-facing impact. Leveling-up devs, managers, and teams, solving meaningful technical + domain problems, improving efficiency, and making users effective all spark joy.
