Five-time software CEO (two public and three private-equity backed): two growth (one IPO, 175X return), one turnaround, and two EBITDA-focused. Grew all five companies profitably. Pioneered two different software markets – Endpoint Detection & Response, and E-Discovery Software – and achieved leadership position (as rated by Gartner) in both. Prior to my current role at OneSpan (NASDAQ: OSPN), at BQE I led a team that more than doubled the recurring revenue growth rate (from the rate prior to the investment) while maintaining positive EBITDA. We increased New Logo ARR bookings by 45% in 2022 and 44% in Q1 2023, and improved ARR gross churn rate by nearly one-third – from 8.0% (2H 2021) to 6.6% (2022) to 5.4% (Q1 2023) – within 18 months. Prior to BQE, I led a remarkable turnaround at MobileCause, a private-equity backed SaaS provider of fundraising software and donor engagement tools to thousands of nonprofit organizations, where we improved our “Rule of 40” metrics by 63 points in three years. We also improved gross margin by 11 points (from 67% to 78%), improved net retention by over 10 points, achieved profitability, increased the value of the business ~25X the net cash invested during my tenure, and executed a successful sale. Earlier, at Guidance Software (NASDAQ: GUID), I was a key leader in its growth from $9 million to $130 million in revenue, as well as its IPO. I served seven years as a public-company CEO, and pioneered two different software markets – Endpoint Detection and Response (a/k/a next-generation endpoint security) and E-Discovery Software – and achieved leadership positions (as rated by Gartner) in both. During my tenure I led the company into new, larger markets, described by an industry trade publication as follows: “Limongelli steered the company from a small forensic software provider into Gartner’s Magic Quadrant for e-discovery and drove the EnCase platform into a fledgling cybersecurity product with incident response features.” Law Technology News article, Nov. 7, 2014. In between MobileCause and Guidance Software, I served as Chairman and CEO of AccessData Group, Inc., a private-equity backed leader in the computer forensics and e-discovery markets. In my first full year as CEO (2017) at AccessData, we grew EBITDA 22% while returning the company to bookings growth and introducing the company's first cloud product, available on AWS Marketplace and Azure.
