Steve is a member of the Board for Directors at HealthEdge, a Cloud-based SaaS company delivering claims administration, payment integrity, care management, member engagement and BPaaS platforms to healthcare payers.
From 2016 through August 2025, Steve served as CEO of HealthEdge. Under his leadership HealthEdge grew annual recurring revenue (ARR) to ~$330MM (36% CAGR), and total revenue to over ~$420MM (26% CAGR), earning >25% EBITDA margins. He led HealthEdge through two substantial exits: a $735MM sale to Blackstone in 2020 and a subsequent $2.6BN sale to Bain Capital in 2025. Later in 2025, Bain financed the combination of HealthEdge and UST HealthProof to create a business with over $1BN of consolidated revenue. HealthEdge is consistently recognized for its market-leading software products, and nationally as an employee and customer supportive enterprise, earning recognition as a Best Place to Work by the Boston Globe, Boston's Best and Brightest, and one of the Best and Brightest Companies to Work for in the Nation.
Steve began his career as a mechanical engineer and programmer for Johnson Controls, using software and digital interfaces to control large mechanical systems, ultimately becoming one of the company’s leading sales engineers.
After earning his MBA at Wharton, Steve became an M&A investment banker at Wasserstein Perella & Co., where he worked on more than $12BN of strategic acquisitions and recapitalizations in the healthcare sector, including the landmark acquisition of U.S. Healthcare by Aetna in 1996.
He then spent 18 years as a healthcare venture capital partner at the Psilos Group, where he invested in several transformational healthcare technology companies, including Active Health Management (acquired by Aetna), Definity Health (acquired by United Healthcare), Extend Health (acquired by Towers Watson), and the founder and follow-on rounds for HealthEdge Software leading up to his eventually joining HealthEdge as CEO in 2016.
In 2015, Steve developed, along with his partner, the Digital Healthcare Innovation Summit, the Breaking Health Podcast where they interview some of the most disruptive CEOs and leaders in healthcare. Breaking Health continues to attract a meaningful listenership today, recently releasing its 175th podcast since inception.
Steve holds an M.B.A. with Distinction from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, where he graduated as a Palmer Scholar, and a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of South Florida, where he was elected to Tau Beta Pi.
