I'm the Co-Founder and CEO of GPS Group Peer Support. GPS provides training in how to lead therapeutic support groups in communities that need more support, are facing challenges, are struggling with life's issues and need a place to go and unload their burdens. We believe that with support every person can face the challenges before them and rise to their own greatest potential. We currently bring GPS to help people struggling with addiction, refugees and immigrants who are relocating to the U.S., perinatal parents struggling with mental health challenges, frontline healthcare workers who are exhausted by COVID, people who are working together to address issues of racial equity, and many other groups of people. We work with state systems, hospitals and health care systems, non-profits, NGOs and philanthropic organizations as well as businesses and companies that want to ensure that people are getting the support they need. GPS fills essential gaps in mental health services, providing accessible support to diverse communities, which for many reasons might not resonate with, or have access to, current systems of care. We at GPS believe that all people deserve a trauma-informed, courageous and supportive place to speak their truth about the primary challenges that they face and through doing so, can tap into the depth of their own strength and the ability to navigate their lives.
